St Joseph’s provides a wide range of cultural opportunities for students to be involved in. These opportunities enable students to display their many talents outside of the classroom, throughout the year.
CHOIRS
With an emphasis on fun, participation and performing, students are encouraged to join our Junior (Year 1-3) or Senior (Year 4-6) Choirs. These choirs rehearse during lunch time, performing at assemblies, school events and the end of year concert, and along with our award winning Show Choir, compete at the annual Mackay Eisteddfod.
In Term 1, our Senior Choir participate in the annual Choral Festival hosted by Kodaly Mackay, where students have the opportunity to perform alongside 400 students from schools across Mackay, conducted by reputable conductors from around Australia.
MUSICALS
School musicals provide numerous opportunities for students to explore their creativity. From acting, singing and dancing to props and back stage, there's a role to suit a variety of interests.
ART SHOW
The art show takes place in conjunction with the Christmas Concert towards the end of Term 4.
Each student exhibits two pieces of artwork created during the school year.
