We at St Joseph’s acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Yuwi Nation on which we work, learn and live. We acknowledge their continuing connection to the land, sea and water ways and pay our respects to the elders past, present and emerging.
Indigenous Education Support
Providing Individualised support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and parents/families to improve educational outcomes through targeted and direct academic, cultural and pastoral support. Providing a deepening respectful understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and spiritualities to all members of the school community.
At St Joseph's, we're fortunate enough to have the following staff employed in Indigenous Education Support roles;

Support Provided
We provide support for all aspects of Indigenous Education for all students. This includes;

Providing guidance and pastoral care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in co-operation with other support personnel.

Selecting appropriate service providers and community government organisations to provide positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and families.

Liaising with students/parents/families and the broader community

Providing opportunities in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education and Activities

Providing support and teaching of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and history to all students
