Partners in learning

Parents as Partners

Parents play an important role in their children’s education and a strong partnership between parents and schools enriches the learning experience.  At St Joseph’s, teachers are committed to positive relationships with parents.

Parents can help their children succeed in school through being involved in their education. This starts with being able to communicate well with their child’s teacher. Good communication involves meeting the teacher, being positive and courteous, and keeping the lines of communication open throughout the year.

Parents are invited to contact their child’s class teacher whenever they have a concern and/or want more information regarding their child’s learning.

There are many opportunities, both formally and informally, throughout the year for teachers and parents/caregivers to communicate including:

  • Parent information evenings
  • Parent/Teacher Interviews
  • Notes and/or emails
  • Telephone
  • Report Cards
  • Newsletters
